The enemy is never a people
The only adversary is the accuser — the voice of fear — which can wear any robe, speak any tongue, and quote any scripture. We refuse every reading that aims the text at a people, a race, a religion, or a nation. (This is why, for example, "the synagogue of Satan" must never be read against the Jewish people; the accuser is a spirit of fear, not a people.)
